Zac and Lydia only met three and a half months prior to season 7’s filming, when Lydia was visiting Zac’s native Colorado and the pair met at a youth church group. Now, Zac is about to propose to Lydia on the show, and they are already married in real time.
When Zac met several of the Plath family members, it was not a friendly welcome. Specifically, Ethan went out of his way to remark that he thought Zac was gay during an interview, and he flat-out told Lydia that he didn’t like Zac for little to no reason, causing Lydia to cry.
