Sister Wives: Kody Claimed Janelle Forced Him To Sign A Deal

Sister Wives has documented the Brown family and their problems for over a decade, and Coyote Pass property has been a big part of that. The land was bought by Kody, where all of the plural families could live together. After the breakup, Meri opened up, feeling pushed aside when discussing the sale of the property. She became emotional when she recalled how Kody asked her to sign a confidentiality agreement. According to Meri, he accused her of delaying the process and said she was the actual problem.

This made her feel weird as to why secrecy mattered and why Kody was trying to silence her. In a separate confessional, Kody claimed Janelle pressured him to move ahead without Meri. He admitted he even considered a backdoor option with Janelle to sell the land without Meri. According to Robyn, she didn’t approve of the idea and insisted the deal had to be “perfectly fair” for everyone. Janelle later revealed that while Kody technically had the power to force the sale, she did not believe it was the right thing to do.

Sister Wives: One-On-One Teaser Revisits Backdoor Deal Accusations

In a teaser for the upcoming one-on-one special by Access Hollywood, Sukanya Krishnan asked Janelle whether a backdoor deal existed between her and Kody regarding Coyote Pass. Janelle immediately denied it, stating there was no such agreement at any point. Kody, however, said something completely different. He claimed that during discussions, Janelle even referred to him as “Robyn’s puppet” as he did what she wanted. Robyn was shocked to hear this.

She said she always wanted what was best for every family member, including Kody’s ex-wives, which also meant Meri. From her perspective, she was the one who stopped Kody from going forward and doing such a deal. Kody then suggested Janelle had been “playing” him for years. He admitted that even after their separation, he loved her a lot. Kody said he still wanted her approval when making important decisions.

According to him, because of this connection, he was influenced by why he even discussed selling the property without Meri’s involvement. Meri said in her own segment that something had happened between them that might have influenced Kody in wanting such a deal. She reminded everyone that Robyn had been married to her brother.
