“Two weeks ago, tragedy struck our family and it has left us completely shattered. My sweet, loving, and caring dad went to heaven,” she shared in the caption. “We’re trying to figure out how to navigate our lives and move forward without him. Please respect our privacy during this extremely difficult time.”
Chuck Potthast’s cause of death
Potthast died following a battle with glioblastoma over three years ago, an aggressive form of brain cancer. He announced in 2022 that he had been cancer-free for more than five years after a major 2017 surgery, however it is unclear if the cancer returned. His exact cause of death at this time is unknown.
Andrei took to his Instagram story on Tuesday, November 25 to reveal that they will disclose more information about his death at a later time. “When it comes to what actually happened, I’ll speak about it later in a respectful way,” Andrei stated in the video.

In an Instagram video, Potthast explained that his abdominal wall had “completely collapsed,” requiring an eight-hour reconstructive operation. He made light of the situation at the time, joking how he has a “flat stomach now.”
