Jackson Ezekiel Bates, born February 17, 2002, is the fifth son and twelfth child of Gil and Kelly Jo Bates. He currently works in construction specializing in docks and marine builds and recently launched his own business, Jack Built, in Florida in early 2026.

His wife, Emerson Hope Wells, born April 22, 2003, previously worked as a dental assistant before marriage. A Florida native, Emerson holds a black belt in martial arts and was homeschooled growing up.

Their love story began in March 2022, when they met through mutual friends at a rodeo in Florida. The relationship quickly grew serious. Jackson proposed on March 10, 2023, at Kraft Azalea Garden in Winter Park, Florida, and the couple tied the knot just seven months later on October 14, 2023, in an outdoor ceremony at Bramble Tree Estates in Sorrento, Florida. The wedding was attended by many members of the Bates family, along with close friends including Jason Duggar.

In July 2025, Jackson and Emerson quietly welcomed their first child, a son named David. Staying true to their private lifestyle, the couple shared very little publicly about the birth, choosing to keep most details off social media.

Now, sources close to the family say the pair are preparing to welcome baby number two. The news comes as a surprise to fans due to how rarely Jackson and Emerson share personal updates, but those close to them describe the couple as “excited and deeply grateful.”
