Are Kim Plath & Ken Palmer Still A Couple? Shocking Update Amid Her Ongoing Divorce Battle!
Welcome to Plathville matriarch Kim Plath debuted her boyfriend Ken Palmer in season 5, but is the pair still together? Kim was married to Barry Plath for 24 years before they announced their divorce in June 2022.
In Welcome to Plathville season 6, Kim and Barry were navigating their personal and family lives post-divorce. The Plath family is still very tight-knit, and viewers have been privy to many family gatherings with everyone in attendance, save for the eldest Plath sister, Hosanna.
Kim and Barry’s divorce was still ongoing in season 6, and the pair have been leading very different lives. The lives of the Plath children are also a main focus of the show, and in Welcome to Plathville season 7, Kim and Barry are still not divorced yet.
How Did Kim & Ken’s Relationship Begin?
Kim and Ken met when the youngest Plath son, Isaac, started getting interested in becoming a pilot. Ken, a pilot, took Isaac under his wing and the pair bought a plane together. Ken was featured in an episode before Kim came out with the news that she and Ken were dating in season 5.

Kim made a revelation in the first episode of Welcome to Plathville season 6 (via TLC) when she revealed that she had bought a houseboat in Florida. She said that she was going through “a time of transition for me and the girls.” She also did mention her relationship status with Ken.
“Ken asked me to move in with him, and I thought about it, pretty hard, but ultimately I decided that at this stage in my life it’s more important for me to have a home that isn’t dependent on anyone else. Right now I need a little bit of time and space.”
Kim left a lot open to interpretation, but it is clear she did spend time apart from Ken. However, Ken was featured in season 6, and Kim presented him to her whole family, and Ken and Barry got along.

How Will That Affect Kim & Ken?
When Kim announced to her second-oldest daughter, Moriah Plath, that she was dating Ken in season 5, Moriah did not have a thrilled reaction and said she didn’t support it. Moriah didn’t say anything overtly negative about Ken, her statement was more of a bias toward her mom moving on so soon from her dad.
“I have never disliked Ken, but I’m also not like ‘Yay, excited.'”
Since Kim is bringing Ken around her whole family, it meant she was pretty serious about him, especially since Kim brought Ken around Barry before their divorce was even finalized. Kim prides herself on her family life. Therefore, if her kids are not on board with the relationship, it seemingly presented challenges to their future together.
Are Kim & Ken Still Together?
When Welcome to Plathville season 6 ended, Kim and Ken were still together. Kim does not have an Instagram account, so there is no way to tell how she would approach showing, or not showing, her relationship on social media. Ken, on the other hand, has a private Instagram, but gaining access to it reveals that he was still very much still in Kim and her children’s lives as of Thanksgiving 2024.
Ken has shared several images of many of the Plath children on his page, signaling that he may maintain good relationships with them.
Ken seemed to enjoy his stepdad role in the children’s lives and is even followed by Lydia and promotes Moriah’s gigs.
Despite the social media portrayal, Kim spilled the tea in Welcome to Plathville season 7. In her intro monologue in episode 1, Kim gave fans the status of her relationship with Ken.
“Ken and I are still friends, but that’s it. We don’t kiss, we don’t have sex, at least for now.”
Welcome to Plathville‘s Kim did not elaborate on what went wrong between the two of them, or how her children felt about the breakup. She did say that she moved into a house with a lot of bedrooms in Northern Florida, however.
