“January 2026 is going to come with a little bundle of joy joining our family!”

As the eldest daughter of the giant Duggar clan featured on TLC’s “19 Kids and Counting,” Jana Duggar was often shown cooking, cleaning and consoling her younger siblings.

Now she’ll be a mom to her own child.

“We are so excited, January 2026 is going to come with a little bundle of joy joining our family!” Jana wrote on Instagram on August 18. “We’re counting down the days and eagerly looking forward to this thrilling new chapter in our lives!”

Jana posted several images in a park with her husband as she showed off her growing baby bump.

Duggar, 35, married Stephen Wissmann, 31, on Aug. 15, 2024, almost exactly one year ago. Like Jana, Wissman comes from a big family; he has 12 siblings, one of whom married Jana’s brother Jeremiah several years prior.

Two days before the wedding, Jana told People, “I think it is one of those things that all girls envision someday. For me, it felt like, ‘Okay, it’s never coming.’ But now it’s starting to sink in. Reality is starting to set in. And I’m like, ‘Wow, this truly is something that I’ve dreamed of.’ And just to see it coming about is incredible and kind of hard to believe. It’s a dream come true.”

The Duggar family often makes headlines … but not always the good kind.

“19 Kids and Counting” was cancelled in 2015 over revelations that Josh Duggar had molested four of his sisters and a babysitter. The following month, Josh confessed to having a pornography addiction and cheating on his wife. In April 2021, Josh Duggar was arrested and eventually convicted for downloading photos and videos portraying the sexual abuse of children, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Religion has also played a divisive role in the family, with several of the Duggar children claiming that they were raised in a “cult-like” environment.

Jana bucked tradition by waiting until she was in her 30s to get married. Many of her younger siblings were a decade younger at their weddings.

Jana’s sister Jill wrote on the Instagram announcement, “So excited for y’all!”

So many viewers have watched Jana’s journey for years, and they seem thrilled for her. They have posted comments like:
