As the video starts out, Bear starts out noting that this post might prove to be “controversial,” adding he doesn’t really follow politics. However, he wanted to speak up after seeing photos.

Bear highlighted photos he had seen of “starving children” online. Saying he was “appalled” by what he saw, he didn’t specify where these photos were from, but noted they were outside of the United States. Though unsure of the area, he later explained in the video, he saw children from whom food was being withheld and being left to starve.

Bear Quoted Both Scripture & A Roman Proverb During The Post

“Children should never be used as [pawns] in war or anywhere else. Children should never be allowed to starve and should always be given everything that is necessary that a child should have. No kid is above another kid.”

Bear reiterated that he’s not entirely sure what was going on in the photos, but he was “firmly 100% against it.” He then quoted Matthew 7:15-20, saying, “You will know them by their works.”

As a call to the world, Bear added, “The powers that be that can make things right need to stand up and do that.” He then quoted a “Roman general,” saying, “Let justice be done, even should the world perish.” This was a translation of a Latin proverb, “Fiat iustitia et pereat mundus.”

Bear noted he agreed with this sentiment. As he explained, “If doing justice dooms the world, then the world should be doomed. Justice should be done regardless of the consequence or outcome.”

Bear Shared He Was Introduced To The Issue Through A Popular YouTuber

“It is unacceptable for children to go without food and have food kept from them.” He later said there was nothing to “justify” the starvation of children.

Bear explained he learned of this issue in the world thanks to popular children’s YouTuber Ms. Rachel. Thanking her, the Alaskan Bush People star noted that his children were fans of her channel.

Bear didn’t divulge just where the images of starving children originated. Recently, the Ms. Rachel Instagram page had featured posts concerning starvation in Gaza.

Taking to the comments, fans also shared their own reactions to the video. Many agreed with Bear’s sentiments. However, others felt that Bear shouldn’t talk politics if he doesn’t follow them, by his own admission. Some comments included:

  • “Good for you Bear! You’re right, this is happening and needs to stop! Figure out how to Feed those poor CHILDREN!!”
  • “Here here! Completely agree, those babies are STARVING!! Insane!”
  • “If you don’t follow politics you shouldn’t post about it. Wise advice I have learned in my 55 years on this planet. Learn for yourself, have the knowledge. Having a platform doesn’t always work in your favor!”
  • “This is a sweet take on it. But it is important to realize that just cause we don’t agree with it, just bc we find it appalling, there are others that do not. And they do not GAF what we think. If anything they play on our emotions and use what we provide for themselves. It just is what it is.”
  • “Sadly children have been starving in one place or another forever…. Sad.”
