‘General Hospital’s Maurice Benard Has Message For Exiting Co-Star

General Hospital said goodbye to Eva LaRue today after it was confirmed that Natalia died after mixing pills and alcohol. LaRue was on fire with her performance as she ended her run in Port Charles.
Maurice Benard (Sonny) had something to say about LaRue’s final performance. While Sonny had no use for Natalia anymore, Benard was in awe of his co-star.
On X, the actor reshared a tease about the General Hospital episode that featured Natalia’s final moments. Benard kept it simple, writing, “Eva LaRue wow.”
There’s no question that fans hated Natalia. As Parade reported, LaRue opened up about that when she broke her silence on her exit.
However, the All My Children alum killed it in her scenes. General Hospital fans agreed with Benard that LaRue was outstanding on the show.
“Eva has always been an incredible actress!” wrote a fan in the comments section of Benard’s X. Another fan exclaimed, “She could’ve been a great character on GH.”
One fan shared, “What a waste of Eva’s time. She’s such a great actor.” A different fan gushed, “Eva did an absolutely fabulous job. Wish ‘Natalia’ could have been redeemed. But Eva killed it. Toward the end, when ‘Natalia’ was spiraling…amazing!! The last scenes she did, on her own…Eva was electric.”
More comments agreed with Maurice’s “wow” remark by saying, “Big time,” and “Yes indeed, that’s was big wow.”
Here’s hoping LaRue lands on another soap that will utilize her talents.
General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
