Duggar Family Scandal Grows: Another Member May Be Facing Jail Time Over Unpaid Debts

The Duggar family just can’t seem to stay out of the headlines—and not for good reasons. With Josh Duggar currently serving time for possessing child pornography, one would think the family’s legal troubles couldn’t get any worse. But now, a new bombshell has dropped: another Duggar family member may soon be facing jail time—this time over serious financial and legal issues.
Legal Trouble Hits Amy Duggar King’s Household
The newest wave of controversy surrounds Dillon King, the husband of Amy Duggar King. While Amy has long distanced herself from the main Duggar clan and criticized their strict values, it seems trouble has still managed to find its way into her life. Dillon, a businessman and entrepreneur, is being taken to court over a hefty amount of unpaid rent tied to a failed restaurant venture.
Back in 2023, Hillcrest Holdings, LLC filed a lawsuit against Dillon and his business, claiming they had gone months without paying rent for a commercial property. After vacating the premises, the company sued for breach of contract, citing unpaid rent and alleged damages to the building. Dillon, however, has a different story to tell. He claims he attempted to settle the matter amicably, but that the landlords “refused to communicate after several good faith attempts.”
Owing Over $150,000—and Time May Be Running Out
Despite his defense, the legal system isn’t buying it. A settlement agreement was drawn up, demanding that Dillon pay $156,909 in back rent. That’s right—over $150,000. And so far, not a single dollar has been paid back.
As a result, Dillon now finds himself staring down the barrel of serious consequences. If he fails to repay the amount owed, there’s a strong chance he could face jail time. Multiple court appearances and mounting frustration from the plaintiffs only add more pressure to the already messy situation.
Adding fuel to the fire, there are whispers that Dillon has been trying to delay the proceedings. Critics claim he’s purposefully dragging out the case in hopes of buying more time. Whether this is a calculated move or a reflection of his belief that the case is unfair remains unclear. Dillon has consistently denied that his business caused any damage to the property, despite the landlord’s assertions.
Could Dillon Really End Up Behind Bars?
While jail time for unpaid rent might seem extreme, legal experts suggest that if Dillon continues to ignore court orders, delay hearings, and fail to make payments, a contempt of court charge could follow. This could indeed result in time behind bars.
At this point, Dillon is in a race against time. Unless he and his team can come up with the money—or work out a new settlement—he may be the next Duggar family member to be booked into jail.
A Family Under the Microscope
For fans of 19 Kids and Counting, this is just another chapter in what has become a long saga of legal woes, fractured relationships, and public scandals. While Amy Duggar King has spoken out against the rest of the Duggar family on many occasions, this situation proves that even those who walk away aren’t immune from controversy.
Whether Dillon ends up in jail remains to be seen. But one thing is clear—the Duggar family name continues to dominate headlines, and not in the way anyone would hope.
