Bringing Up Bates:Â Esther Bates Shares New Update Regarding Cancer
Sadly, Estherâs sister-in-law, Joanna Keyes, is battling breast cancer. She reportedly discovered the tumor while breastfeeding her infant child. It was deemed stage 4 and already spread to her femur and spine. Sheâs currently undergoing intensive treatment. Keep reading to find out if there have been any positive results from treatment and any positive news for the Keyes family.
Esther Bates is close to her family, and her brother Davidâs family is going through an extremely challenging time. Joanna is in Florida as she bravely battles breast cancer. Unfortunately, Dave, who is employed by a roofing company, was forced to stay behind in Pennsylvania to continue working to support his family in every way he can. They were lucky and found a clinic in Florida that specializes in holistic and conventional cancer treatment. However, sadly, insurance does not cover the treatment.

Joanna has family and friends rallying behind her to help with taking care of the children while she undergoes ten weeks of intense treatment. They were able to secure an Airbnb large enough so that their family could all be together during this rough and uncertain time. A GoFundMe was set up to help the family be able to afford the rental and all the expenses that come with being away from home. They have already taken out a second mortgage on their home to help cover expenses and treatment.
More Details About Joannaâs Cancer Battle
Esther shared the GoFundMe link on her own Instagram, so those willing can help the family if they so desire. The link contains new information from Joanna herself about her cancer as she continues to fight. In the latest update, the mother of five shared that they are moving on to stage 2 of treatment.
She said, âLittle update, week 3 finished with very positive news, Jesus is truly healing me through these treatments! The OGSUBQ treatment, injecting Oxygenated glycerine directly into the tumor (directly with a shot of insulin to open the cancer cells as theyâre then starving for sugar) and that glycerine then attacks those vulnerable cells!!!!! My tumor has shrunk after ONE TREATMENT, the doctor was thrilled with my bodyâs response!!!! Iâll have weekly injections now.â
Joanna went on to say that her next phase is the best option for treating cancer of the bone. She said she will be undergoing âhyperthermia treatments where they sedate me and I sit, supervised by a nurse the entire time, with my body at 104 degrees for 3-4 hours. I will just go to bed on those days afterwards. This is the most intense and aggressive of treatments but HIGHLY effective in killing any cancer of the bone!!!â
Doctors are pleased with how her body is responding to treatment so far. Joanna still has a long road ahead of her. She asks for prayers that her body continues to respond positively to the aggressive treatment she is undergoing.
Doctors are hoping for the best possible outcome, with that being Joanna going into full remission. The family asks that if someone canât donate, they continue the prayers because itâs helping.
What do you think about Joannaâs cancer fight? Do you know anyone whoâs undergone holistic and conventional treatment?
