CBS to counterprogram the Olympics with 10 classic ‘Survivor’ episodes in the lead-up to Season 50

It’s the peak of physical and mental endurance. Viewers passionately root for their favorites. And in the end, only one claims the ultimate prize.
No, we’re not talking about the Olympics. This February will be all about Survivor!
CBS has announced its counterprogramming strategy for the Winter Olympic Games on NBC, which includes 10 classic episodes of Survivor, now in its 26th year. It’s all in the lead-up to Season 50, which debuts with a three-hour premiere on Feb. 25 and concludes with a live finale in Los Angeles on May 20.
Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans brings back 24 iconic all-stars for another chance at taking home the $1 million check. Both “old school” and “new era” contestants are in the running — everyone from Season 1’s fan-fave Jenna Lewis-Dougherty to Season 49’s winner Savannah Louie. See the full cast list.
