In early episodes of season 20, Sister Wives star Janelle made it clear that she was happy to forgive Kody. Just before the finale, Kody decided to go on his self-dubbed apology tour. He went to his ex-wife and apologized for the way he behaved during their marriage. When Kody visited Janelle, he talked about their 2022 separation after 30 years of being together. Because of this, there was a brief moment when Janelle thought about the good times they had together.
Janelle admitted that the idea of fixing things again came to her mind. Since the two have kids together, it was natural for such thoughts to creep up in her mind. However, that feeling quickly went away as reality set in. Janelle felt Kody was too dedicated to Robyn anyway, and felt any future together was unrealistic. She was happy to be in her current position and didn’t feel like revisiting those thoughts again.

During the Jan. 11 One-On-One special, Kody opened up while discussing the sale of the family’s 14-acre Coyote Pass property in Arizona. According to the reality star, he was influenced by Janelle because of their special connection. Kody revealed that he almost went ahead with the $1.5 million sale without Meri’s approval. He suggested that Janelle had encouraged the idea because she wanted her share of the sale money.
Kody admitted that since he looked for Janelle’s approval, he couldn’t think of anything else and agreed. He compared the situation to how differently he reacted to Meri. Kody described feeling energized and eager when Janelle reached out to him. But his interaction with Meri made him feel uneasy. Because of that, Kody felt it played a role in his agreement to go beyond Meri. Things could have gotten out of hand until Robyn came into the picture.
Kody said that Robyn called him out for handling the transaction in such a way and asked him to take the right path. This even led to some conflict in his marriage to Robyn. Janelle later defended herself and stated that the idea came from legal advice and that she never wanted to exclude Meri.
