REALITY REBOOT? Discovery Channel star insists reality show is coming BACK over 3 years after final episode
ALASKAN Bush People star Bear Brown has insisted that the show is returning, despite its three-year hiatus.
The TV personality shared a TikTok video over the weekend to address chatter that the series is over for good.
“It’s looking closer and closer like it might be happening, and what I’m talking about is actually the return of Alaskan Bush People,” the reality star told his over 660K followers.
He then explained that while there’s been “no official word” on whether the show is indeed returning, there have been numerous signs that are pointing in that direction.
Bear first cleared the air on rumors that the Discovery Channel show was axed due to the Brown family’s 2021 lawsuit, which has still yet to be resolved.
Brown patriarch, Billy, who died in February 2021, was sued by his business partner for a breach of contract, two months after his sudden passing, and his widow, Ami, has since been dragged into the legal drama.
However, Bear claimed that the $500K lawsuit would “definitely be thrown out” and had nothing to do with the show’s extended break.
The father of three went on to shut down rumors that the family being more spread out is the reason filming never picked back up.
Bear and his six siblings have moved around quite a bit in recent years as they’ve grown their families, alternating their time between Washington, Texas, and Alaska.
Although many fans believed their distance could’ve played a factor in halting filming following the last episode of Alaskan Bush People, which aired in December 2022, Bear revealed it was the network’s merger that complicated things.
Warner Bros. and Discovery Channel merged in April 2022, forming the new company, Warner Bros. Discovery.
However, following the recent news that Warner Bros. was purchased by Netflix for $82.7 billion, Warner Bros. Discovery is again separating into two publicly traded companies, forming Discovery Global.

The full split is reportedly expected to take effect in mid-2026, giving hope that fans could see new episodes of Alaskan Bush People on their screens again soon.
“That and the fact that our show is on hiatus greatly increases the return of Alaskan Bush People,” Bear teased in the clip, and noted the network was “still interested in following the family.”
Fans weren’t convinced that a comeback was imminent, considering it has been years since the last episode aired.
The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed in March that the long-running series was canceled after 14 seasons.
The series aired on the Discovery Channel from 2014 to 2022, and the network never posted any updates on whether or when the show would resume.
The family has since made headlines for facing hardships after the cameras disappeared.
Billy and Ami’s daughter, Rain, and her husband were arrested and charged with burglary in April.
Shortly before, her brother Noah made shocking claims about her drug use, and The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed that he called police to conduct a welfare check on her and their mother.
Ami, who is in remission from stage three lung cancer after receiving a three percent survival chance in 2017, suffered a major setback with her health earlier this year.
The Alaska native was rushed to the hospital in February after complaining of chest pain and breathing issues, which were believed to have been from pneumonia.
Her kids shared their concerns about their mother on social media and, at the time, said her “lungs are really bad.”
