’90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way’ Preview: Matthew’s Father Confronts Greta About Her Shocking Decision

In Swooon‘s exclusive preview for the December 22 episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 7, Greta is caught in a pivotal moment, speaking with Matthew’s father as he tries to convince her not to break up with his son.
Recently, on the 90 Day Fiancé spinoff, Greta called off her engagement with Matthew just days after arriving in England, where she had planned on moving in with him. While Matthew found her choice to break up completely sudden, in an exclusive interview with Swooon, Greta revealed that she had a conversation with Matthew that morning, warning him about how she felt. After she left, Matthew asked his father to speak with her, hoping he could win her back.
Swooon‘s sneak peek at that conversation proves that sending in his father may not go as well as Matthew had hoped. After Greta explains that she feels confused as to why she doesn’t love Matthew anymore, his father asks, “Is that because you’ve had so much happening in the last few months? You forgot how to live, almost, haven’t you? Because you’ve been studying, studying, studying, studying.”
“I mean, I know that there was a shift because I felt like we were not evolving into people who were still compatible with each other,” Greta confesses. “I wish, like, I could change my feelings. He’s a great person. I respect him so much. He’s helped me so much in life. I truly just only want him to be happy.”
While Greta makes it clear that the feelings are no longer there, Matthew reveals (via his father) that he views their split a tad differently. Matthew’s father explains, “He wonders whether you just need some time because, you don’t forget, you’ve just traveled across, halfway over the world. You’ve probably not slept properly. He’s prepared to give you your time and your space.”
Back to his opinion, Matthew’s father tells Greta that they have not had time to explore their IRL connection because she’d only been there for four days when she called it quits. He notes, “Let’s be honest, it’s only been four days. It’s not been given a chance to go any further.” In response, she tells him, “I know it seems sudden, and I know this just sounds crazy, but I just know it in my instinct that he’s not my person… My honest truth, which you can accept or not, [is that] I just know I can’t make him happy.”
The animal lawyer admits, “And I just hate that I did this to you guys. You guys like welcomed me with open arms. It really meant the world to me.” Matthew’s father then switches to looking at their relationship in the past tense. He tells her, “And thank you because we loved you, Greta, and we really thought a lot of you.”
Could this really be the end for Greta and Matthew? Tune in to find out!
