The “Survivor” legend and recent “DWTS” finalist will go head-to-head in an array of unpredictable challenges in the new YouTube series.
WATCH: Boston Rob & Dylan Efron Debut New Series ‘Everything’s a Competition’
“Survivor” legend “Boston” Rob Mariano and “Dancing with the Stars” finalist Dylan Efron first crossed paths on the cast of “The Traitors” Season 3 earlier this year. Since then, what started as a competition show rivalry has evolved into a “bromace” and friendship for the reality TV ages.
Now, the duo are back with their very own reality competition series, “Everything’s a Competition,” coming to YouTube on December 17.
Boston Rob & Dylan Efron Face-Off in ‘Everything’s a Competition’
Throughout “Everything’s a Competition,” Mariano and Efron will face off in a series of unpredictable challenges, going head-to-head in everything from blindfolded golfing to sword fighting, pottery, and more.
Together, the pair will test their strength, as they compete in grueling physical challenges, as well as their wit and creativity to determine, once and for all, which reality star comes out on top.

The ‘Traitors’ Tease Their ‘Fun & Competitive’ Team-Up
“Boston Rob is a reality legend – always out strategizing, always clutch. As someone who’s always loved strategy and competition, when we met on ‘Traitors’ we became quick friends,” said Efron in a statement. “While we may have been in an ‘alliance’ on the show, in real life – we compete… in literally everything. It’s fun, it’s competitive, and he’s more nimble than he looks. Can’t wait for people to see what happens when we’re together.”
GettyMariano added: “Dylan is one of the guys that can just do it all, but that doesn’t mean I can’t still give him a run for his money. After ‘The Traitors,’ we came up with the idea for ‘Everything’s a Competition’ because that kid loves to show off his skills, and I love to put him in his place. We’ve had a great time coming up with these episodes and fighting it out to see who comes out on top.”
How Did Boston Rob & Dylan Efron Meet?
Boston Rob, who began his reality competition career on the cast of “Survivor: Marquesas” in 2004, has since appeared on the Jeff Probst-hosted series a total of five times, not including a season of mentoring new castaways on “Island of the Idols.”
By the time Mariano joined the cast of “The Traitors” Season 3 in January 2025, he’d already won “Survivor,” competed on “The Amazing Race” and starred in “Deal or No Deal Island,” alongside a slew of other reality TV appearances.
Efron, on the other hand, joined the cast of “The Traitors” as a relative newbie to the world of reality TV, having only previously appeared on his brother’s eco-themed travel series “Down to Earth with Zac Efron.”
Once on set together, however, Mariano and Efron became fast friends, and have since continued to feature their relationship heavily on social media, and in real life, with Mariano showing up multiple times to support Efron during his recent “Dancing with the Stars” run.
“Everything’s a Competition” will see the pair reunited, making the most of their competitive natures by facing off in each episode against a range of tasks including everything from lawn bowling to a bromance date night sip and paint challenge.
“At YouTube, we want to empower creators to innovate, take risks, and deliver truly engaging original content directly to their communities,” said Kim Larson, Head of Creators at YouTube, in a separate statement. “‘Everything’s a Competition’ is a fantastic example of the creative freedom creators can only find on YouTube. We are thrilled to see Dylan and Rob harness their unique chemistry and competitive spirit to build a high quality, completely original series for their fans.”
