Sister Wives Star Janelle Brown Mourns the Death of Close Friend, Shares How It Reminds Her of Son Garrison’s Death

Janelle Brown is remembering her good friend, who died last month.

The Sister Wives star took to Instagram to share a tribute to her pal Angela Joy Moody, who died at the age of 51 on Oct. 1. The TLC series honored Moody at the end of this past week’s episode with an In Memoriam tribute.

“My dear friend Angela left to return to her heavenly home on Oct 1st,” Brown captioned an Instagram tribute video shared on Tuesday, Nov. 18. “Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her.”

Noting that they would always share their locations on their phone, the reality star recalled feeling “watched over” when Moody would check in after seeing where she was.

“I still expect her to chime in and then I remember she won’t be doing that anymore,” Janelle wrote. “I think she was a person of pure love. Someone who wanted to make sure everyone one around her was taken care of and ok. She adored being a mom and a grandmother. Angela you are so missed 💔”

Amidst her grief, Brown noted that Moody’s phone has been kept on, and how that reminds her of her late son Garrison Brown, who died in March 2024.

“For some reason seeing your location pop up gives me comfort,” she said. “We kept Garrison’s phone on for a long time for that same reason. Meet you on the other side my friend.”

According to her obituary, Moody is survived by her husband Craig and her children Nicholas, Taylor, and Isaac. She was also a grandmother of two with one more grandchild on the way.

On a GoFundMe created by Moody’s daughter Taylor, the family shared that Moody’s death was “unexpected.”

“She passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind our dad, Craig, and our younger brother, Isaac,” Taylor shared. No cause of death was given.

“Angela’s kindness, optimism, and loving presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives she touched,” her obituary reads. “Her legacy of love and selflessness will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. A friend, sister, and mother to All.”
