In the second episode of Season 19, the show revealed that Maddie no longer speaks to Brown, and her children also don’t talk to him. Kody admitted he feels sad about being distant from his daughter and grandchildren.

At the same time, he argued that if he didn’t reach out to her, she could have reached out to him. Because neither of them made the first move, the distance between them has only grown. It seems he hasn’t learned from his mistakes. He lost his son, Garrison, in March 2024 and was not on speaking terms with him at the time. Sister Wives: Janelle Reveals Maddie Hasn’t Spoken To Kody In Years

In a recent episode of Sister Wives, Janelle admitted that Maddie no longer speaks with Kody. Previously, the show revealed that Maddie was pregnant with her fourth child. When asked if Brown knew about the good news, Janelle replied, “No, Maddie doesn’t really even tell him that she’s pregnant.” She added that he would eventually find out, as there was no reason to hide it from him.

“They haven’t spoken for a long time. It’s probably been two or three years,” she said. Nearly seven months later, after Maddie gave birth to her fourth child, she decided to call out her father for his public lies. In October, the mother of four posted an inspirational quote on her Instagram stories. A user replied that it lacked something, which she attributed to her father. Brush responded, “Your dad saying lies about you for the entire world to hear teaches it to you REAL QUICK.”

Last November, she admitted that her father does not know how to respect boundaries. During a podcast with The Authenticity Society, she said that everyone had to play by Kody’s rules, but she did not wish to do so. She also revealed that her father would get upset by her honesty. Maddie said, “And so that was one of the reasons that I went no contact because it was like, he didn’t like a mirror being held up.”

However, she also tried to understand her father’s perspective. During the premiere in September, she said she is learning not to be disappointed. “I’m still learning how to just see him for who he is,” she continued. She added that it is possible he might not know how to show up and that Kody might be hurt, too.
