Sister Wives’ Janelle and Meri Brown Give Ex Kody the Cold Shoulder During Uncomfortable Video Call
Meri Brown and Janelle Brown aren’t interested in making small talk with their ex-husband, Kody Brown.
In a preview clip obtained by Us Weekly from the upcoming Sunday, November 2, episode of Sister Wives, Meri, 54, and Janelle, 56, give Kody, also 56, the cold shoulder during a video call.
“Hey, guys, how’s it going?” the TLC star asked the two women, who responded, “Good.”
“What’s going on? Anything exciting?” Kody then asked, before he was met with awkward silence.
However, Kody tried to keep the conversation going, asking Meri — whom he had wed in 1990 and split from in 2023 — about the Utah inn she owns.
“How’s the B&B doing? It looks different,” he remarked, but Meri casually told him, “It’s the same.”
Kody also commented on Meri’s dog, which appeared on screen with her, but the discussion still didn’t progress.
“I don’t know what happened with Meri because I remember helping her move to her place in Parowan, Utah, and it was all fun and games and cordial,” Kody told cameras. “Since then to now, it’s got weird as… I can’t even say words about how weird it’s gotten.”
As for Meri, she admitted in her confessional that she “had to draw some really hard boundaries” with her ex-husband.
“When we get on this video call, and he’s being all friendly and trying to act like things are normal after some of the things that he has said to and about me and my friends… that’s not gonna fly,” she stated.
After not getting anywhere with Meri, Kody attempted to converse with Janelle — whom he was spiritually married to from 1993 to 2022 — asking if she “heard any good jokes lately.”
“No,” she replied. “I live with children; they don’t tell very funny jokes.”
“I live with children and they tell funny jokes,” Kody insisted.
“Mine are younger,” she responded, seemingly referring to her grandchildren.
