đ Bringing Up Batesâ Erin Bates Celebrates Major Milestone After Her Near-Fatal Sepsis Battle â âEvery Day Feels Like A Blessing Nowâ

Erin Bates is sharing an encouraging update amid her battle with sepsis.
The Bringing Up Bates alum revealed that she’s been able to walk for the first time in weeks after suffering health complications following the birth of her and husband Chad Paine‘s seventh baby, Henry.
“I donât even have the words,” Erin wrote on Instagram Oct. 2. “For weeks, my leg has not worked (since my seizure in the hospital). Iâve been carried, wheeled, and held up through tears and prayers⌠and today â it moved.”
“Today I took steps,” she added. “They might be a little wobbly, but they are steps I wasnât sure Iâd ever take again.”
The 34-year-old, who included photos of her family of nine in her post, went on to detail the mixture of emotions that she felt in the moment after so much struggle.
âIâve cried until I laughed, and laughed until I cried,” she said. “My heart is overflowing with gratitude. Jesus, You are faithful. You are the Healer. All glory belongs to You.”
And Erinâwho also shares kids Carson, 10, Brooklyn, 8, Everly, 7, Holland, 5, Finley, 3, William, 22 months, with Chadâended her update by expressing her gratitude to everyone who has been in her corner as she’s pushed through her complications.
“To those who have prayed and encouraged us, thank you,” Erin finished. “You have been part of this miracle. To the doctors, nurses, and therapists who have poured so much into my recovery â we are forever grateful. Today we are standing (literally!) in awe, giving thanks for every single step forward.”
Instagram/Erin BatesThe reality star’s positive update comes a month after Chad shared that Erin had suffered a âlengthy and severe seizureâ amid her ICU stay, which stemmed from her developing a severe UTI and kidney infection that sent her into septic shock shortly after giving birth.
“Up to this point, Erins infection was getting better, but we found ourselves back in a place of heartache, uncertainty, and tears,” he wrote on Instagram Sept. 4. “Erin is extremely weak and spent hours only half conscious.”

I love her more deeply than words can express, and I canât even imagine life without my best friend.”
