Luke and Madelein wanted to start a new business venture together, but Madelein didn’t like that only one plot would be in her name.
The disagreement continued over time, and Madelein admitted she didn’t trust Luke. She also brought up Luke’s past cheating scandal. Luke tried to calm the situation by explaining that his goal was to provide for both of them. Through his plan, he wanted to give stability and build something meaningful together with her. In the latest episode of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, Luke welcomed his father, Jim, to Colombia, who came in to see his property. Jim introduced himself to Madelein as well. After meeting Madelein and her family, Jim toured the property that Luke hopes to turn into a hotel business. While he appreciated how beautiful the land was, he asked Luke to slow down and think realistically about his circumstances.
As Jim was a businessman himself, he talked to Luke about his experience. He warned that large projects often cost far more than what people plan for. He told Luke that if he believed the venture would cost two million dollars, it would likely end up costing closer to three million. Jim also reminded him that he did not currently have that kind of money. Then, Jim talked to Luke about his upcoming marriage to Madelein.
Jim described her as a “firecracker” and asked Luke to set some boundaries early on. Jim stated that he had married someone similar in his time and felt it was important to talk about such issues before marriage. He warned Luke not to be dominated or pressured into decisions he was not comfortable making. In a confessional, Jim admitted he saw Luke buckling under the influence of Madelein.
