💔Survivor Icon Boston Rob Pleads for Fans’ Support After Receiving Devastating Personal News

‘Survivor’ Legend Boston Rob Calls on Fans for Help After Receiving Heartbreaking News

“Survivor” legend Boston Rob Mariano is calling on his fans to lend a helping hand after receiving devastating news concerning his close friend’s newborn daughter.

The five-time player and former “Sole Survivor” took to Instagram earlier this week to share the message, “My friend [Caroline Miller King] needs our help for her baby girl Tala. Please donate if you are able to.”

The message was followed by a link directing fans to a GoFundMe page supporting newborn Tala Liliana King, who was recently diagnosed with a rare and life-threatening form of leukemia.

Boston Rob Shares Call for Donations in Aid of Friend’s Daughter

Tala’s parents – Victoria’s Secret model Caroline Miller King and former college football star Deion King – provided additional information about their daughter’s extraordinarily rare illness on the GoFundMe page, titled “Support Baby Tala’s Fight Against Leukemia.”

“Meet Tala Liliana King, the definition of hope and strength. Baby Tala was delivered a month early by emergency C-section and to our shock, a 1 in 5 million chance of being newborn with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Everyday she is fighting in the PICU, not only cancer but the risk of other infections, as well as a brain hemorrhage. She is the strongest person we’ve ever known,” they wrote.

While baby Tala’s illness – which targets the blood and bone marrow – is common in adults, it’s rarity in children, especially newborns, is undeniable.

In addition to helping pay for the costs of medical care, the King family have explained that donations will also go towards providing baby supplies and other urgent expenses for Tala.

“We have received such an out pour of love, for that we are truly grateful. The biggest thing we ask above all else is for love and strength,” they added.

Mariano & More ‘Survivor’ Stars Donate to the Cause

Following Mariano’s call-to-action earlier this week, Tala’s GoFundMe earnings have risen from $14,000 to $25,000 (as of this writing) in just two days. While there’s still a long way to go towards the King family’s $90,000 goal, Boston Rob himself personally contributed $300 to the efforts, though it remains possible that he is supporting the family behind the scenes as well.

Mariano, who shares four daughters with his longtime wife Amber Brkich, was undoubtedly moved by his close friend’s unimaginable struggle, and continues to call on fans of his appearances on reality series like “Survivor,” “The Amazing Race,” “Deal or No Deal Island” and “The Traitors,” to lend a helping hand if they’re able.
