š Moriah Plath Opens Up About Her Heartbreaking Alopecia Battle ā Losing Her Hair & Eyebrows Changed Everything!

Moriah PlathĀ is opening up about her battle with alopecia.
TheĀ Welcome to PlathvilleĀ star took toĀ InstagramĀ on Monday, July 7, and posted two photos. In one, she wore a hat, and in the other,Ā a scarf was tied around her head.
āIām hesitant to share this cause itās a vulnerable and sensitive thing for me,ā Plath, 22, wrote in the caption. āMany people have been criticizing the way I look, itās nothing new to me and Iāve grown used to being picked apart since I was young for my style choices, hair choices and makeup choices⦠many of which were reasonable cause even I look back and am like goodness Moriah you look a bit crazy haha! But thatās life and the best part is having fun and not beating your younger self up.ā
She said sheās āstruggled with alopecia just about my whole lifeā and āfor the most part itās been manageable.ā
However, she revealed, āa few months ago I lost all my hair, eyebrows and eyelashes again. It was extremely hard and emotional and I had to come to terms with it. I cried an awful lot and then told myself oh well, it is what it is. Iāll do what I can and make the most of it.ā
Plath continued, āIām not very talented yet at wearing wigs and trying to draw my dang eyebrows on every day can be frustrating lol. Iām still trying to master that haha! So if I look a bit odd or different now that would most likely be why šIām learning to laugh where I can and cry when I need to and just accepting it.ā
Sheās been āstuck with the same black wig cause I wasnāt prepared for all the questions but it is what it is now.ā
Plath said that sheās ānever had any cosmetic work done, besides Invisalign. Iām learning to love myself the way God made me, with or without hair.ā
So far, āitās a continuous struggle,ā she admitted, ābut Iām getting there!ā
She concluded her post on a positive note, musing āthat our imperfections and insecurities are actually some parts of us that are most beautiful!ā
As for critiques of her appearance, Plath reminded her followers that āyou never know what [someone is] going through and try to speak life and positivity cause they probably are harder on themselves then you are [on them]!ā
She previously addressed her condition on the sixth season of the TLC reality show featuring her Christian Fundamentalist family. After a recent breakup,Ā Plathās hair started falling out.Ā
āI would brush my hair and it was just, like, [gone],ā she said in a September 2024 episode where she tearfully told her mom,Ā Kim Plath, that she wanted to shave off her remaining hair.Ā
She later explained that when she was 3 or 4, she lost all her hair. āIt started falling out and it didnāt come back till I was 8,ā she recalled. āThese last several months, I have noticed, for myself at least, heartbreak triggers my alopecia. I think that itās an outward reflection of whatās going on inside.ā
